A Quick Interview Guide for Securing HR Position

January 30, 2024

Acing any interview requires preparation and knowledge about the subject. Whether it is sales, marketing or HR, in order for your interview to go well, you must come prepared for questions related to the company and how you can add value for them. With the right balance of convincing and confidence, no interview is difficult. As an HR outsourcing company, we have compiled a helpful preparatory guide for candidates who are on a job hunt.

Hiring managers use interviews as a tool to learn about a candidate’s personality, qualification skill – helping them determine if they will be the right fit. Using a structured question and answer format, interviews help companies gauge how you think and respond in given situations. While some may be generic questions, others may be specific to the job and company you have applied for.

Tell me about yourself?

This is often considered as an ice breaking question wanting to know some of the basic information about you. In this question, you are required to provide a complete answer from your name to qualifications, supporting skills and your future aspirations. The answer should hold due information and be concise without extra blabber.

Why do you want to work for our company?

This question remains to be central as it gives a sense if you have researched about their business and how much are you invested in working for them. Your answer should provide factual information of what you understand about their company and how it resonates with you. This should also include asking them questions to keep the conversation flowing and show recruiters that you are genuinely curious and intrigued.

Tell me about your strengths and weaknesses?

This is also one of the most commonly asked questions that shows how well you can communicate. It shows how well you can perform as an employee. You must not sound narcissistic but realistic about your positives and negatives. Share real life examples to support your answer.

How will you resolve conflict if it involves a senior?

Conflict resolution is an integral part of any HR department involving solving issues, addressing performances and others related to any hindrances in the work environment. You must highlight the basics of confidentiality and diplomacy while standing on strong ground as an HR. It should include addressing problems as soon as they arise, what channel did you use and what steps did you take and what was your final step to resolution.
